Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam. Not Vietnam's largest or richest city, it is none-the-less a vibrant 24 hour metropolis. The old town is a maze of tiny streets in which every building front is a shop. There are also quieter spaces such as the Temple of Literature, and important historical sites such the mausoleum of the country's first communist leader, Ho Chi Minh.
