In December 2025, I travelled to Gdansk for a long weekend visit. The old town is a place of beautiful old buildings. Well, old is not quite right. The town was bombed completely during World War 2. After the war, the buildings were rebuilt exactly as they had been before.
Gdansk is a city of water. Canals snake through the town centre, linking to the dockyards and ship building areas further out towards the Baltic Sea.
